A misunderstanding appears to have occurred, as the negotiations at Hong Kong in respect of the land had not arrived at the definite stage indicated by your communication to that

gentleman.

The Hon P. H. Holyoak, Member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong and Chairman of our Local Committee, in London a few weeks ago and was to have discussed this matter with my Board. Unfortunately, Hr. Holyoak passed away soon after

his arrival in this Country.

I am to ask if you can be so kind as to hold the matter in abeyance until the result is know of communications which we are instructing our Local Committee in Hong Kong to place before the Colonial Secretary of the Colony.
